On Friday 15th March, Assurant Solutions handed over its call centre facility to Comic Relief to process more than £65,000 worth of donations.

Around 100 volunteers from all corners of the business gave up their time to man the phones in our Crewe and Hersham contact centres from 7.00pm right through until midnight. It was a busy evening of answering calls with more than 2,300 pledges processed ranging from £1 up to £1,000.

Chris Harrison, CEO of Assurant Solutions commented: “This is the fifth year in a row we have pledged our support for charity telethons like Comic Relief and we are proud to have made a difference to this worthy cause by taking vital donation calls.”

As well as taking calls, earlier in the day employees took part in a wide range of activities in aid of Comic Relief including a bake off event, jewellery sale and pyjama party which collectively helped to raise around £500.

Chris Harrison added: "The excitement was high on the day with a bake off and bake sale to boost funds and this fantastic atmosphere was present throughout the night. My thanks go to everyone who volunteered their time.  It was a very rewarding and enjoyable day. Being one of the charity’s registered centres, we understand the important role call centres play and we look forward to supporting the next event.”
