On Thursday 1st November, Assurant Solutions held its third annual Insight forum at The Brewery in London; Digital Footprint – Corporate Opportunity or Consumer Risk?

Over 45 representatives from the mobile telecoms and retail banking sectors were in attendance to discuss the opportunities and risks ‘digital footprint’ is presenting to businesses.

The forum was lead by one the country’s leading digital footprint experts, Tony Fish, who has written numerous books on this subject matter. He was supported by speakers from Google, Monitise and Equifax who all presented their views and insight on how businesses can maximise the potential of the vast amounts data which people share through smartphones and tablets.

Business Development Director, Andy Morris, said: “It was a fantastic evening and particularly great to see the amount of discussion which the subject created between the speakers and the guests. We wanted to demonstrate to our clients and prospective clients that Assurant Solutions is ahead of the game when it comes to delivering insight and opinion on the key subjects which impact our markets. Based on people’s feedback on the night I think it was very much mission accomplished!”

Some of the key insights shared included the UK is way ahead of the rest of the world in terms of adoption of the internet, its use and the ease of which they want to research and transact online. New technologies make consumers engage with brands much more regularly and share much more information whether knowingly or not. Organisations can benefit greatly from the information contained within digital footprints but also need to ensure that they are trusted to use this information responsibly and assist their customers in protecting their data.  The presenters also encouraged attendees to think about their own data and what their respective businesses are currently doing to address this issue.
